So...basically, it should be an incredible and royal privilege to be our enemy--to hate us should guarantee all kinds of blessings and heartfelt prayers!

I've often thought that I'd make a great enemy for someone--a sort of nemesis. I keep praying for people, but you'd be surprised how hard it is to get people to slap you on one cheek, let alone the other.
That's true...but to the extent that each of us is his or her own enemy, we can offer compassion to that self-destructive part of the self!
