When God Gives

I'm reading on that very topic, if covered over a bit in some unnecessary rhetoric. Specifically the giving of His energies versus his essence. Do you recommend the book? I can't find much online about it.

Josephius Flavius,

If you figure out the essence/energies thing, please let me know--it baffles me. The only way I can make any sense of it at all is apophatically--it's a way to say that though we can partake of the Divine Nature, we can never actually be God. But isn't that so obvious that it could go without saying? Well, maybe not...
As for the book, I really like it. It is not systematic theology--nor does it want to be--nor do I want it to be--I find it tremendously insightful re. being human, being in a relationship with God. I have underlined it more or less to death. If you do read it, please let me know what you think!
